Here’s the recommendation from our digitizing expert:

The selection of least noticeable lock stitches at the start and at the end of a segment depends very much on the type of segment you are dealing with.

Satin segments:
Basic lock stitch at the start bead position of a segment. Recommended to set “Start lock inside” with a 2mm value
Line lock stitches at the end bead of the segment.

Complex Fill segments:
Basic lock stitch at the start bead position of a segment. Recommended to set “Start lock inside” with a 2mm to 3mm value
Line lock stitches at the end bead of the segment.

Run Stitch segments:
Line lock stitch at the start bead
Line lock stitch at the end bead
